Book the premium desert safari in Dubai. The evening starts on the red sand at Lahbab, not on a flat track beside the road.

The dune takes you. The 4x4 climbs a red face at Lahbab, hangs for a second, and drops. That drop is the point. Your stomach goes first. The sand is red, the dune is high, and the driver knows the line. This is the part people come back and talk about.

Sharing is AED 130 per person. The official sharing price is AED 180.
Private is AED 900 for one group of up to 7 people in one vehicle. The official private price is AED 1,260. That price is for the group, not per person.

Lahbab red dunes
Pickup is from your Dubai hotel, about 3:00 to 3:30 PM. The drive goes out to the Lahbab red dunes. Dune bashing is on those high red dunes, about 30 to 45 minutes. Tyres are let down so the 4x4 holds the sand. You can ask the driver to ease off if someone in the car does not want the full drop. Pregnant guests, children under 3, and anyone with a back, neck or heart problem should skip the bashing and go straight to the camp.

On the high dune
The car stops on a high red dune. Two things happen there, and both are included.
Sand skating. You get a board and you ride the face of the dune. It is sandboarding. Closed shoes help.
Photographs. This is the photo stop. The light on the red sand is the picture. You take it here, on the dune, before the camp lights come on.

Optional, not in this ticket
After the dunes, the stop for a quad bike or a dune buggy is there. You can take it. It is optional. Quad biking is not included. The dune buggy is not included. The AED 130 and the AED 900 do not pay for either one. If you want that ride, you add it on the spot.

The camp
Then you go to the premium camp. A camel ride is included. Seating is the sofa terrace and the dome lounges, not a plastic chair in a corner. The camp is lit. The courtyard is where you eat and where the stage is.

Live barbecue
Dinner is a live charcoal barbecue. Skewers come off the grill. The buffet has salads, mezze and fruit. Soft drinks and juices are on the camp. This meal is included on both tickets.

Five live shows
You sit and you watch. These are the shows on the camp stage.

Tanoura. One dancer, a wide coloured skirt, spinning until the cloth becomes a disc. The spin is the show. It is the traditional whirling dance, and it opens the night for a lot of guests.

Belly dance. A dancer on the Arabic rhythm, in costume, in the middle of the floor. This is the show most people came to see. It is included.

Khaleeji. Gulf folk dance. A line, a step, a shoulder movement you will recognise if you know a Gulf wedding. It is not a tourist sketch. It is the local dance.

Dabke. The Levant line dance. Feet hit the floor together. The line moves. It is loud, and it is short enough that the camp does not lose the fire show.

Fire show. The close. Fire on the dark, in front of the terrace. This is the last performance before the cars leave.

You get all five. They are included. They are not a separate ticket.

Back to the hotel
Drop-off is in Dubai, about 9:00 to 9:30 PM. The whole evening is about 6 hours.
